Child's Safety and Discipline

ASAP is committed to protecting your child’s safety. Each of our staff members has applied and been personally interviewed, reference-checked, and approved by our screening committee. In addition, we have approved their background check results including criminal records locally and nationally, sex-offender records, and DMV records.

If your child has a minor injury while at ASAP, we will administer whatever aid is needed and send home an accident report. If any major injury occurs we will take whatever necessary steps seem appropriate and call the emergency contact numbers on file.

For the safety of children that attend ASAP and for our staff we have a strict behavior policy. We do not tolerate inappropriate behavior, language or gestures of any kind. This could include, but is not limited to, hitting, pushing, kicking, biting, spitting, sexual conduct, cursing, damaging property, and name calling. If these behaviors occur an incident report will be written up with the conduct of behavior that occurred. The ASAP staff writing the report, the ASAP director and the parent/guardian must all sign the report. The original will be kept on file at ASAP and a copy sent home.

There are behaviors outside of what is listed above that can take away from us being able to effectively run our program for the whole group. For disruptive and disrespectful behaviors outside of what is listed above we follow a multiple step process for helping child to correct behavior. If the behavior continues then we will proceed to the next step as stated below.
1. A verbal warning is given up to 3 times
2. Child will be moved to a new activity or area of play
3. Child will have personal time away from the group
4. A staff will talk with parent about behavior during child pick-up and/or behavior note sent home
5. Director will call parent to pick up child early
6. If the same behavior occurs 3 times in one week all resulting in either a note or phone call home an Incident Report is filled out

*Effective August 17, 2016 we will be requiring immunization records for enrollment
